  • BBC presenter Matt Chorley has apologised for misquoting Reform UK leader Nigel Farage on Tuesday's episode of BBC Two's Newsnight, saying he had "misremembered" Farage's call for "pure cold rage" over the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak.
  • Chorley said "white cold rage" instead of "pure cold rage" on camera three times during an interview with Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch.
  • Farage said his legal team had written to the BBC demanding a "full on-air apology and investigation into the defamatory comments made about me on Newsnight."
  • The BBC removed the episode from iPlayer and BBC Sounds and directly apologised to Farage.
  • The misquote came as national outcry over the police handling of Nowak's murder continued, with 11 officers and a police dog injured during protests in Southampton on Tuesday night.

  • Joni Lamb, co-founder and president of the Daystar Television Network, died Thursday at the age of 65 following a period of serious health issues, the network said.
  • With her late husband Marcus Lamb, she launched the network in 1993 with a single station in the Dallas area, expanding it to a global reach of 2.3 billion households across more than 200 countries.
  • In 2010, she stood by her husband on air as he admitted to an extramarital affair and alleged extortion, later saying the Holy Spirit told her, “He’s worth fighting for.”
  • After Marcus Lamb’s death in 2021, she married Doug Weiss and co-hosted “Ministry Now”; her earlier daily show “Joni Table Talk” was a signature program on the network.
  • The network’s board of directors said Lamb “made sure a leadership team was in place” and that the ministry will continue, mourning her love “for the Lord and for the people we serve.”
