Donald Bunn of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, told his friends he was going to win $100,000 from a lottery scratch-off ticket. The next ticket he bought delivered that exact amount.

Bunn, speaking to the North Carolina Education Lottery after his June 3 win, said the prediction was not just idle talk. “I told my buddies I was going to hit for $100,000,” Bunn said. “It was just my time.”

He purchased a $30 “100,000 Cash Payday” ticket from Dabney Speed EZS Mart on Western Boulevard in Tarboro, according to lottery officials. The first ticket he scratched revealed the $100,000 top prize.

“This is the best feeling in the world,” Bunn said.

The win comes days after other notable lottery windfalls across the Southeast, as MSI previously reported in a related article about a South Carolina woman who won $1 million after a cat food sale prompted her to buy a ticket. Bunn said he is considering using his prize money to buy a house.
