Judge dismisses author Michael Wolff’s lawsuit against Melania Trump

A federal judge dismissed author Michael Wolff’s lawsuit against first lady Melania Trump over statements Wolff says caused reputational and financial harm.
Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil said Wolff and Trump “have a real dispute,” but must litigate “according to the same procedures as everyone else.”
Vyskocil rejected Wolff’s request that the court declare he did not defame Trump and address potential liability for any later suit.
Melania Trump’s lawyer, Alejandro Brito, sent Wolff a letter warning Trump would be “left with no alternative” but to sue if he did not retract statements.
In April, Melania Trump denied any affiliation with Jeffrey Epstein in a statement at the White House, which her camp said responded to “unfound and baseless lies.”
