Elijah Allman, the son of singer and actress Cher, had a court hearing in New Hampshire scheduled for Wednesday canceled after he obtained an attorney, according to authorities and court reporting. Elijah Allman, 49, was arrested March 1 and remains held in the Rockingham County Department of Corrections, as Rockingham County Superintendent Jonathan Banville said.

Authorities described the March 1 arrest as the second New Hampshire incident involving Allman in a matter of days. Banville said it was unclear whether Allman, who lives in Malibu, California, had any connection to the Windham, New Hampshire, home that police said he entered.

The hearing that had been set for Wednesday was continued until an undetermined date after Allman got legal representation Wednesday morning, the reporting said. The attorney identified in the reporting, Sarah Landres, did not respond to a request for comment.

In the Windham case, police said in a report that Allman did not have permission to be at the home and forcibly entered it. The reporting said Allman is charged with two counts of criminal mischief, one count of burglary, and a count of breach of bail tied to the March 1 incident.

The reporting also described a separate New Hampshire episode involving St. Paul’s School in Concord. Officials at the school said Allman last month identified himself as the parent of a prospective student and then slipped into the dining hall as students were leaving the building, prompting police response to reports that he was disturbing people.

In connection with that school incident, Allman was charged with four misdemeanors, including two counts of simple assault, criminal trespass and criminal threatening, the reporting said. The reporting added that Allman also faced a disorderly conduct charge, which it said is illegal in the state but not considered a crime.

Allman was released on bail in connection with the school incident, according to the reporting. The reporting also said Allman did not respond to an email requesting comment and that a phone number for him was not working.

The cluster reporting placed the Windham hearing alongside a separate legal matter in California, in which Cher sought a conservatorship over Allman’s finances. It said that in December 2023 Cher filed a petition asking for a temporary conservator because of concerns about Allman’s mental health and addiction, saying his struggles left him unable to manage his assets and potentially put his life in danger.

That petition said Allman was entitled to regular payments from a trust fund, but it argued that “given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues,” any funds distributed to Elijah would be immediately spent on drugs, leaving him with no assets and putting his life at risk, the reporting said. It also said Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Jessica Uzcategui denied the request, saying she was not convinced that a conservatorship was urgently needed.
