Elijah Allman, the son of the late Gregg Allman and the brother of Cher, was arrested Friday in Concord, New Hampshire, after police responded to reports that he was disturbing people inside the dining hall of St. Paul’s School, a private high school where police said he had no association. Concord police said he acted belligerently at the school.
Police said Allman, 49, was charged with four misdemeanors: two counts of simple assault, criminal trespass and criminal threatening. The charges were tied to the incident reported to police at about 7 p.m. Friday.
In addition to the misdemeanor counts, police said Allman was also charged with a violation of disorderly conduct, which is illegal in New Hampshire but not considered a crime under state law. After charging Allman, police said they released him on bail as the case moves through the court system.
A representative for Cher was not immediately available. Attorney information for Allman was not available in court records, and St. Paul’s School declined to comment, according to the report.
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
